Yankees, Good for Baseball?

The Yankees are back in the World Series. Is that good or bad for baseball?

They get good rating and bring in TV revenue.

They win because they can afford to get the best players. Does this help all players because it keeps compensation up? Does it hurt players on other teams?

Global Warming or Climate Change

Today i join others just to mention a few things about our changing planet.

I know the evidence that the planet has changed a few time before we were here.

There is geological evidence everywhere.

And for those scripturally oriented even the Bible talks about God pushing back or separating the waters.


So while I know there has always been dramatic change and there may well be regardless of what we do, we need to act responsibly. We need to find balance with our environment.

As the recent experiment with the moon has shown, it won’t be easy to find water or anything else we need on another planet.

This is the only one we have. Let’s take care of it.

Story about zoo using painted donkeys as zerbas

Just saw this story on MSNBC about a zoo in Gaza using painted donkeys as zebras.

The article actually talks about how the previous zebras passed away. Don't judge until you read it.

Healthcare Debate

Why are there so many lies out there regarding the health care debate?
There are some docs that claim to save you the time of reading the various bills yourself. The look legitimate when they site page and section of a particular bill.

The truth is when you look at the items in those sections you see in the least they are being a bit misleading at worst they are flat-out trying to deceive.

Take these examples:
In a summary on Conservativepledge.org they say -
"Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!"

The only limit is around a cost sharing program and it is also part of a section where they show things were you should have coverage without limit.
or this one -
"Page 95: The Government will pay ACORN and Americorps to sign up individuals for Government-run Health Care plan."
When I read the doc it does not say anything about ACORN or Americorps on page 95 or any of the pages in the document.

The Economy - what are you seeing?

I'm seeing a lot of fear?

Almost 50% of people are worried about losing their jobs, according to an Associated Press-Gfk poll released Feb 18th.

Yet if unemployment spikes it only means another 4% (going from 8-12%) will.

The worry is killing everyone.
